What to expect after Booking me as your Wedding Photographer.
So, you’ve booked me as your photographer for you’re big day, (YIPEE!) but what happens next? How does this wedding photography process work? Throughout this blog I will share with you everything you can expect from me between now, your Wedding Day and beyond!
First things first… Relax.
You have just managed to tick off one of the most important decisions for your wedding day, and I couldn’t be happier to be the lucky lady that you have chosen to document your wedding story! So I’d advise that you sit back, relax and celebrate with a glass of bubbly… or cake… any excuse!
After booking, there will be some down time from me to enable you to focus on finding your other wedding suppliers and continue with planning all those wonderful details which will help bring your wedding day to life!
Feel free to talk to me about your wedding ideas and plans as much or as little as you wish! If you have a particular problem or concern, or want an extra opinion on an idea, then I’m always happy to help where I can. I come from a fashion and textile design background so have a good knowledge of colour and composition. You can also view my Wedding Tips Section for more inspiration and wedding planning help.
Working in the wedding industry means that I get to meet lots of other lovely wedding suppliers, so if you are in need of a recommendation then please do ask and I will send you over my list of favourite wedding suppliers! I only recommend people that I have worked with before, know personally or know how good they are through other mutual friends in the wedding industry.
Couples / Pre-wedding Shoot
If you have chosen to have a couples shoot or have one included within your wedding photography collection, then when you feel ready, let me know and we will start planning your shoot. We will find a date that works for us and discuss a options for a location.
An couples / pre-wedding shoot is far more than me just taking some nice photographs of you both. It’s a wonderful way for us to get to know each other, chat about any questions, your wedding plans so far and get excited together for you becoming Mr & Mrs! The shoot will enable you to get comfortable in front of the camera, whilst I learn about your likes and dislikes and how you interact with one another. … Basically, just hang out and create some stunning photo’s that reflect you and your relationship!
These photographs could be used as a perfect addition for your save the date cards or a personalised guest signing book. You can read more about what an engagement shoot is like via this blog!
The count down begins! – One month to go
By this point hopefully all will be organised in regards to the running of your wedding day… fingers crossed! I will encourage my couples to email me their completed Day in Detail Form, if you haven’t already, and I then create my own photography schedule based on your wedding day timings. If you would like to we can then arrange a call to go through these details and get super excited about your wedding day together!
One week to go!
I will be in touch with you to answer any questions or concerns that you may have and to see if there have been any last minute changes to your timings or plans for your wedding day; if any changes do happen then please let me know ASAP.
Your WEDDING DAY!
Firstly… You’ll be getting married today! How exciting!
All your hard work and planning is done, and it’s now time to CELEBRATE! Time for you to eat, drink, dance and have some fun. I’ve got everything covered, just as planned.
Depending on the collection that you have chosen, I will arrive during your morning preparations roughly two hours before you need to leave for your ceremony. I will capture all the fun and anticipation of you and your loved ones getting ready, along with your beautiful details such as your wedding dress/attire, bouquet, accessories, etc.
I will keep a close eye on your schedule yet will be as flexible as possible if parts of the day run over. Most of the time you won’t even know I’m there. I will be documenting your day in an unobtrusive way, behind the scenes, and blending in like a guest. I predominately work in a documentary style, though will offer subtle direction when needed.
Honey moon (or Mini moon) time!
Whilst your whisked off as newly weds I will be busy creating a few sneaky peeks to share with you via your private online gallery. This preview should be ready for you not long after you return home, approximately 1-2 weeks after your wedding day.
You’ve got mail!
Keep an eye out for your emails 6-8 weeks after your wedding day. I will be sending you your FULL online wedding gallery along with your chosen print package or lovely USB Presentation Box in the post.
A couple months later
I’ll leave you alone for a bit… PHEW!… Allow you to just enjoy your wedding photos and enjoy life as newlyweds. If you have a wedding album included within your wedding photography collection, or would like to order one, then when you’re ready, get in contact with me and I will email you my wedding album brochure to get this process started.
I really love creating albums, there is something so wonderfully tangible and satisfying about seeing your wedding story in print; being able to sit down as a couple or with your loved ones and slowly flick through the pages of your album, reminiscing on all that happened on your wedding day! I only use professional quality printers and have a variety of printed products that you can choose from as well, all displayed within an online shop attached to your wedding gallery.
The End…?
Oh I hope not! Although it will be the end of our wedding photography journey together, it would be lovely to still keep in touch.
